Why Sedation?
Some people are so frightened of the dentist that they will not consider a check up let
alone dental treatment. These fears can be overcome; one way of doing this is by having intravenous (IV) sedation, this is given by placing a small cannula into the back of your
hand or into your arm so that a sedative can be administered directly into your blood via
a vein. This will normally make you feel drowsy, relaxed and unaware of any treatment,
but you are still able to co-operate with the dentist, and you will be awake.
Cost:
Consultation
£40 for a 20min Consultation, this will involve:
Examination of treatment needs
Assessment of suitability for treatment under sedation
Any x- rays
Explanation of treatment under sedation and what to expect
Sedation
£200 plus treatment cost
